By My Side (Lorrie Morgan/Jon Randall): A song (by the former marrieds) about not being afraid of love/commitment; the lyrics are true-to-life! I just heard it a few days ago.
Never Loved Before (Alan Jackson/Martina McBride): A fun (I love your quirky sneaky sense of humor), fast-paced, and touching song by two country superstars.
Roll on Mississippi (Neal McCoy/Trace Adkins): A beautiful homage to the state- and childhood memories! This song is on the album Pride: A Tribute to Charley Pride (recorded by Neal).
That’s How You Know When You’re In Love (Lari White, featuring Hal Ketchum): Two of country’s most respected/independent singer-songwriters are here. Lari, who also acts, is one of my all-time fave ladies of country!
Helping Me Get Over You (Travis Tritt/Lari White): These two opposite personalities create a powerful song of rebound and regret. I esp. love these lyrics: Getting past the love we lost/That’s a lonely bridge to cross; There’s no forever in his eyes/It’s not the love that we once knew.
Whiskey Lullaby (Jon Randall/Jessi Alexander): The singer also wrote this song (made famous my Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss). Here Jon performs the original version with his wife, also a country singer.
Don’t Close Your Eyes (Jon Randall/Jessi Alexander): This is the poignant song made famous by Keith Whitley, a singer (and Lorrie’s first husband) who bridged the pop and country divide in the ’80s.
